INSTALLING AND
REPLACING BATTERY
1.
Use 9 volt Nickel-Cadmium or 9 volt Energizer alkaline
batteries.
2.
Remove battery cover plate by sliding it to either side.
3.
Hold the unit so your fingers and body are away from the
switch and contact probes.
4.
Snap battery into battery clips.
5.
Place battery in compartment.
6.
Replace battery cover.
Your unit is now
fully operational. Keep battery fully charged.
TESTING
Make certain
that no part of your hand or body is closer to the contact probes
than the switch and safety zone plate. (A distance of approximately
1 1/2".)
Getting closer
to the contact probes than this can result in your receiving a mild
shock.
When you press
the switch, a charge will fire across the front of the unit between
the test probes. You should see and hear an electrical discharge
between the two inside electrodes.
It will continue
to fire as long as you hold the switch in, and will cease firing the
moment you release the switch and allow it to return to its' normal
position.
Fire a test
charge for only 1/2 second duration.
WARNING: DO NOT
DISCHARGE THE UNIT INTO THE AIR FOR MORE THEN ONE SECOND AT A TIME
AS REPEAT FIRING FOR LONGER DURATIONS CAN DAMAGE UNIT AND VOID
WARRANTY.
